406 Not Acceptable

To be harsher on comment spam (no follow really increases that crap!) I’ve decided to use a plug-in to stop comments from being posted on posts older than 30 days. I am also going to delete all the comments in my ‘moderation queue’, sorry about that if you wrote an essay

This plug-in to block comments after 30 days was quite difficult to find, the main result on google was to a deleted plug-in (BRILLIANT!) So incase you googled over here, this is the Close Old Posts plug-in you want.

As you may notice, this is do follow blog. So I feel it is my duty to point you to a nice list of do follow blogs.

If your just starting out with your blog, getting your site on these lists is one essential move. Of course, content and relevant links are still important; but posting a few useful comments on other blogs, that aren’t spammy will help get visitors to your site. So first you will want to get your site on such a list of blogs, getting your site on one will probably mean your site will appear on a number of concatenated lists on other sites — that’s a few nice free links! Then use them to post a few useful and informative comments on relevant sites to your own. The search engines will give relevant links more weight; and users are more likely to visit a relevant page to the one they are on.

I’ve just found that my old AOL email account, from when I used AOL for dial-up internet, still works! Don’t point and laugh at the fact I had AOL internet, they were the first in the UK to offer a fixed monthly rate dial-up browsing, so I didn’t have to pay every minute for laggy Quake and hours to download a demo. Although, I did still block the phone line!

Anyway, my AOL email account states I have 806 new email, and a glorious 6 spam! My gmail account (my junk mail box that I use for all forums, sites, and anything that wants an email address,) is now up to 651 unread messages and 264 spam messages! So that’s around 1600 unread email that I’ve managed to collect. I am pretty sure you don’t want to see any titles though, you know what spams like!

I’ve just installed some (supposedly) nasty anti-spam plugins, so I hope they work! Otherwise I’ll get a bunch of keyboard hoodies and script kiddies spamming me, oh noes!
